Cardiff City Ladies are back in the FAW Cup and if early results are anything to go by they could go all the way.

City face Llandudno Junction in the quarter finals on Sunday having beaten Newcastle Emlyn and Cyncoed in the previous two rounds scoring 15 goals without reply.

Currently eighth in the FA Women’s Premier League, Cardiff had previously been excluded from the cup competition by the Welsh FA who denied teams playing outside of Wales the chance to compete.

“We were removed last year because we play in England”, says Club Coach Michele Adams. “We were told that as the guys could not take part neither could the girls.”

Having won the competition eight times, Cardiff look like having a great chance of adding to that tally this season.
