Boulders will host the first round of the BMC Leading Ladder competition

Owen Tweedie practices his moves ready for Leading Ladder.

Boulders indoor climbing centre is setting up to open the first round of the BMC Leading Ladder competition October 15 to 30.

The competition is open to climbers aged eleven and over. Amateurs and enthusiasts alike are encouraged to participate in what is set to be an exciting lead rope event.

Competitors can scale the heights and attempt any climb at their own pace over the two weeks. Climbers mark themselves on score cards once they have completed a climb.

Boulders climbing instructor Matthew Gray explained that Leading Ladder “appeals to a diverse range of climbers and it encourages people to travel between centres, trying different settings.”

The competition offers a great opportunity to get chalky, get on the walls and get climbing.
