Joggers: avoid danger

Last week, a jogger was found collapsed in Penarth, without any identification on him. In light of this, we looks at the essential ways to stay safe while running in Cardiff this winter.

The deputy manager of Run and Become in Cardiff, Uggiti Channing, says whenever people ask about safety she always mention identification.

‘If you can’t carry a mobile phone or ID on you, write your name on a piece of paper and put it in your pocket.’

‘ID and visibility is key,’ she continues.

Jeffery Webb, an instructor for Outdoor Fitness running clubs recommends running in pairs or with a club to avoid further incidents around Cardiff.

‘When we ran in groups no one had any problems,’ says Webb.
