Military fitness gets results

After a summer of Olympic action, and a recent insurgence of fitness fanatics taking over gyms, roads and bicycle lanes, it was only a matter of time before fitness classes themselves stepped up to the mark. Enter British Military Fitness (BMF), the outdoor fitness routine derived from military style training camps.

Classes are organised by bib colour; blue for the exercise-shy, red for intermediate fitness and green – not for the faint hearted. Having classes organised by ability allows everyone the chance to take part, says Cardiff’s BMF park manager Nathan Gibbons. Military trained Gibbons explains that exercising outdoors with a group motivates people more, “The classes focus on variety and teamwork to help participants reach their goals”.

BMF currently run free taster sessions in Cardiff.
