Welsh rugby voxpop: Fans share their thoughts

The Welsh rugby team won the battle to escape the Pool of Death, but lost the war against the Springboks to reach the Rugby World Cup semi-final last Saturday.

Despite their narrow defeat, supporters and impartial spectators alike have commended the brave efforts of the Welsh team.

The men in red beat the odds and their squad’s growing injury list to earn the respect of the international rugby community.

“Sport is like live theatre. Thank you for a great show”, said Marcus Traill, 38, from New Zealand.

Adrian Sutherland, a 36-year-old company director from Twickenham reminded Welsh fans: “At least you beat the English.”

Welsh captain, Sam Warburton has also thanked supporters for being “absolutely amazing” during Wales’ 2015 Rugby World Cup campaign.
