A local Welsh-language band is throwing a launch party for its debut EP this week in Cardiff.

Alien Square, a Welsh-language prog rock band from Cardiff, is launching its debut EP on Friday 2 December with a free gig at Buffalo Bar in the city centre. Welsh-language musician Gildas will support the band.

Lead singer and guitarist Ceri Ambrose said: “It took six months to write and record a melodic acoustic EP and six minutes of rehearsals to rock it up!” The EP, titled Yr Aer a’r Baw (The Air and Earth), contains four
Welsh-language tracks.

The quintet will play another gig in Cardiff the following week at Nos Da hostel. See the band’s Myspace for the full list of tour dates.
