Beardyman brings beats to Glee Club

Champion beatboxer, Beardyman, is coming to Cardiff as part of his critically acclaimed One Album Per Hour UK tour.

The multivocalist, comedian and musician – real name Darren Foreman – will perform a mixture of musical comedy at The Glee Club on 11 November, and aims to create an album in an hour using only his voice and a set of DJ decks.

On entering Glee, audience members are asked to suggest a song name idea. Beardyman then chooses his favourites onstage and – through generating loops and synthesizers of his voice in a live set – produces a studio-quality album that is unique to that show.

That’s Beardyman’s favourite thing about the show, the element of the unknown. “Myself and the audience both know there’ll be a new album created,” he said. “But beyond that, it’s an unwritten page in music history.”
