Classics in the capital

“This is not – repeat, not – an ordinary chamber concert…”

It’s easy to ignore classical music among the sea of bigger acts, better venues and brash hype – but if you’ve been you know the joy and if you’ve not then you should.

The Cardiff Philharmonic‘s new season is Classics for All so this winter could be your chance. They are performing on Friday 19th October at St David’s Hall, the main venue in Cardiff for classical performances. They don’t perform especially regularly, so check the event listings for St David’s Hall and the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (RWCMD).

The RWCMD regularly puts on events, and most of them are free or under a tenner. Innovatively, many of these events are on at lunchtime. So if you’re available, make your afternoon a classic.
