Bringing the classics to Bridgend

A Bridgend venue will be showcasing some of Wales’ best classical musicians later this month.

Located in the centre of the town, Carnegie House Arts Centre is set to host acclaimed Welsh musicians the Awen Duo on 12 November.

The duo will be playing songs from a wide range of classical composers including Mozart and Schubert, and will be joined by fellow Welsh musician and 12-year-old piano prodigy Dafydd Chapman.

Carnegie House hosts many events and exhibitions all throughout the year, and although the venue showcases a variety of performers and artists, it places a particular emphasis on Welsh successes.

Speaking about the event, Awen Duo’s Tanwen Evans said, “Anyone of any age is welcome. We’ve deliberately put together a programme that’s not too high brow.”
