Pumpkin Beers are this season’s flavour

After opening in Cardiff on 4 October, Small Bar is keen to share this season’s best craft beers.

Since its debut, the stylish bar has poured gallons of unique and unusual craft beers from local breweries and also from around the world.

Jack Granger, 28, operations director said, “Small Bar Cardiff is all about showcasing products from small, independent breweries. We work with people from small companies who are as passionate about great products as we are.”

Over its opening weekend, Small Bar proved to be a popular destination for locals; packing its first floor with eager customers. “Our first week in Cardiff has been amazing. We have been overwhelmed with the support of Cardiff locals coming along to check the place out,” Jack said.

Alongside a range of local Welsh crafts, such as Crafty Devil, Tiny Rebel and Pipes, there is a selection of American-styled ale, dark stouts and more interestingly sour and salty beer.

One customer described the selection of beers from the opening as “A refreshing shock to my taste palate, unexpected but enjoyable.”

When asked about distinctive seasonal beers, Jack said, “With Oktoberfest just wrapping up and Halloween coming up shortly, the flavour of the month is Pumpkin Beers.

“These are a controversial one as some people love them and others hate them!”. Stingy Jack, brewed by Beavertown in London, is the one to look out for according to Jack.

The option to taste beers before you purchase them is always available. Small Bar’s staff will point you in the right direction based on what you normally like to drink.

“My advice would always be to go in to a craft beer bar with an open mind,” Jack said, “If you’re convinced you don’t like beer you’ve just not tried the right one yet!”
