New eatery goes au naturel

Doors open for Cowbridge restaurant promising taste of nature

A new cafe kitchen bar planted its seed in Cowbridge over the weekend, bringing the great outdoors to the dinner table.

Stemming from the concept of a treehouse, Arboreal offers a range of wood-roasted dishes, with all ingredients locally-sourced and prepared in an open kitchen where customers can see the rustic menu take shape.

“We wanted to do something related to trees, so we started linking the tree with burning ovens,” says manager Samantha Saidi.

“If you think of the concept of a wood-burning oven, you tend to just think of pizza. We’re trying to move people away from that ideology.”

Along with brother Badir and husband Robert Morgan, the family business hopes to combine their passions of food and interior to establish the restaurant as a local retreat.
