Cardiff and its surrounding seem to have become the BBC’s favourite filming spot.
Ever since BBC’s Doctor Who returns back in 2005, Cardiff has become a famous filming spot. Out of this successful comeback, two major spin-offs were made: BBC series Torchwood and Sarah Jane Adventures. The first one now attracts many tourists to Cardiff-bay, main location of the TV series. Fans have even dedicated an entire wall by the docks to one of the characters.
But aliens are not the only one invading Cardiff. Back in 2010, screenwriters Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss decided to revisit Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s dramatis persona, and used the BBC Wales studio and a few area in both Cardiff and Swansea to shoot the acclaimed TV Show Sherlock.
