St. Patrick’s Day is a big day and you can’t sit at home on this day. Get out and celebrate St Patrick’s Day with some great music played by an Irish DJ, drink some Guinness, paint your face and most importantly, dance!  2. The Big Democracy Project: The Senedd

Interested to know how art and politics can work together? Spend a day exploring about issues concerning democracy through debates and performances. This event organized by National Theatre Wales will be held at the National Assembly for Wales’ Senedd and the Pierhead. Participants will engage in conversations which will focus on answering the important question: What is the most pressing issue facing Wales?

Festival of colours is here! Join the Holi celebration organized by YUVA the Indian Society Cardiff University at the India Centre. Get grooving to some Bollywood music, taste a variety of food such as Indian chats, samosa, dosa and sweets. Don’t forget to get some spare clothes because Holi isn’t complete without getting drenched in coloured water.

The hit Broadway musical, Hairspray, returns to Cardiff and it promises to fill your night with dance and music. Set in Baltimore, Tracy Turnblad (Freya Sutton) is not the usual girl. Watch the journey of the big girl with big hair as she rises to become a local star. See her fight for equality using her fame to bring about a change. And watch how she sweeps away the handsome Link Larkin.

It’s a feel-good show and the best way to get rid of those Monday blues!

  6. Language Tandem – UNA Exchange

Fascinated with languages? Want to speak a different language for a change? This is the place to be! Language Tandem-UNA Exchange bring in native speakers and volunteers who not just help you practise a different language but also share their different cultural experiences. Tandem language is a way of learning a language wherein one is a native speaker of the language and the other person wants to learn it. It’s a mutual learning experience for both. So, if you want to learn something new, head to Woodville next Thursday.

If you are a runner, this is where you should be next Saturday. The best runners from around the world will be coming to Cardiff for the most prestigious and exciting event this Spring, the IAAF/Cardiff University World Half Marathon Championships which will held in Cardiff on 26th March. It doesn’t matter if you are 24 or 64, runners of all ages and of all abilities will run in the footsteps of champions in this race.

It was in 2009, the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships was last held in UK. This year’s event is special as it will be the first time in which the UK has also hosted a mass race at the same time as the elites.
