O’Neill leads global talent to opera gala

The Tabernacle will host some of the world's best opera singers

A gala concert featuring some of the best opera singers from across the world will highlight the winter schedule at the Tabernacle Baptist church in Hayes, Cardiff this week.

Led by highly esteemed Welsh mentor Dennis O’Neill, select members of the Welsh International Academy of Voice will take to the stage on Wednesday 28 November for the showcase event.

Having been awarded the Verdi Medal in 2005, O’Neill was invited to the University of Wales Trinity Saint David to establish an International Academy of Voice in Wales.

Eleanor Webber, a member of staff at the WIAV, said that, “We average around 8 opera galas each year at the academy, however this is our first concert at the Tabernacle, and we hope to return again.”
