Film in Afan provides a cinema on the move which will be showing films in schools and community centres in the Upper Afan Valley<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n

A mobile cinema programme entitled Film in Afan which aims to put film at the heart of the community has been launched by Film Agency Wales in Port Talbot this month.<\/p>\n

The agency recently secured \u00a3250,000 from the Big Lottery Fund Wales to deliver this project to one of the most deprived areas in Wales, providing an opportunity for young adults to discover the cultural and social value of film.<\/p>\n

Michael Gubbins, the chair of the Film Agency for Wales said, “The project is about bringing great cinema to the community but it will also show how film and film literacy can have an important social and economic role, developing the skills that will be at the heart of the emerging audiovisual economy.”\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
