A local coffee shop owner has warned that the invasion of coffee chains could soon envelope the authenticity of the traditional Italian coffee shop.<\/h2>\n

With the emergence of Coffee Number 1 in Cardiff to rival perennial coffee powerhouses Starbucks, Costa and Caf\u00e9 Nero, the presence of the traditional coffee shop is in danger of being lost.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hugely disagree with the claims of authenticity from the big chains out there,\u201d says Dan Patching, owner of The College House.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe multi-national company cannot possibly replicate the authenticity of smaller, more focused shops like us, and it is up to places like us to stay unique.\u201d<\/p>\n

Patching\u2019s warnings come as Starbucks has recently become enveloped in a tax-evasion row by allegedly falsely declaring losses to save payment.\u00a0<\/p>\n
