Record numbers ran the Cardiff Half Marathon this year despite unseasonably hot weather.<\/p>\n

Fifteen-thousand people ran the rerouted 13.1-mile race around the capital on Sunday 16 October, raising over \u00a31 million for charity.<\/p>\n

First-time marathon runner Richard Graefe raised over \u00a310,000 for the children\u2019s ward of a South Wales hospital. The 40-year-old Monmouth carpenter, whose twin sons were born prematurely and received long-term care at Abergavenny’s Nevill Hall Hospital, says the run for him \u201cwas more about celebration, to say thank you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also crossing the finish line was 23-year-old student Charlotte Kelloway and her 60-year-old father Bill. It was the second year the father\/daughter team ran together.<\/p>\n
