The principal trumpet player of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales <\/a>will be playing in Cardiff in November.<\/p>\n

Philippe Schartz <\/a>will be treating brass fans to a programme of classics from Francaix\u2019s Sonatine<\/em> to Hindemith\u2019s Sonata<\/em> at the RWCMD<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Philippe said: \u201cI\u2019m looking forward to showing that the trumpet is a versatile musical instrument, not just a loud fanfare like instrument at the back of a band.\u201d<\/p>\n

Schartz has developed a highly successful career as an orchestral and chamber musician as well as a soloist.<\/p>\n
