Don\u2019t let them eat cake! A tax on junk food may be enforced if Plaid Cymru wins the election in 2016.<\/p>\n

Leader, Leanne Wood, has said that if her party wins the assembly election in 2016 she would consider enforcing a tax on sugary drinks of up to 20p per litre.<\/p>\n

Wood has suggested that any financial gain made by this taxation of treats would be put towards the recruitment of 1000 extra doctors.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are committed to this boost for the NHS whether extra revenues raised through sugary drinks tax meet the entire cost or not\u201d Wood has said.<\/p>\n
