Images by Chapter Art House<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Chapter Art House will host a series of newly composed scores alongside four silent films as part of the <a title=\"Abetoir Horror Festival main website\" href=\"http:\/\/www.abertoir.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Abertoir Horror Festival.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The previously scoreless films will be getting a musical makeover by silent film composer Paul Shallcross, who will be performing a live piano accompaniment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s so much more electric, the live performance,\u201d he explains, \u201cwhen you record a film you haven\u2019t got that feeling that the audience is there behind you and your music is generating a response.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The four short horror films<em>, Frankenstein, La L\u00e9gende Du Fantome, Le Spectre Rouge<\/em>, and <em>The Jest<\/em> are not the first films to be given a new score by Shallcross.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He has previously collaborated with the Abertoir Horror Festival on a performance of\u00a0<em>Nosferatu.<\/em>\u00a0 He composed a new piano score for the film which was performed the festival in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0[youtube]http:\/\/youtu.be\/jxpHONJSKOY[\/youtube]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Composer to give new life to short horror films with a live performance<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":119,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[12],"tags":[3178,3182,26,81,3180,3184,3183,3185,3187,908,3179,3177,3186],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v14.9 -
