A recent health inspection on Cowbridge Road East has seen 14 eateries being classed as below standard.<\/p>\n

The impromptu visit from the Food Standards Agency scored restaurants and takeaways on a scale of 0-5. The 14 restaurants in question scored between 0 and 2, meaning they need attention and improvement.<\/p>\n

Ian Lloyd-Davies, of Cardiff Council, said, \u201cThe ratings are given on the inspection and each restaurant needs to ensure that they are following the procedures set out by the Food Standards Agency.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking of the unhygienic conditions that some of the restaurants were found in, he continued, \u201cDefrosting meat in a bucket on the kitchen floor is not satisfactory.\u201d<\/p>\n

Each takeaway has been given guidelines on how to increase their rating to a satisfactory level.<\/p>\n
