It may have made its Broadway debut 17 years ago, but this month, students at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama<\/a>\u00a0are out to prove that the musical Rent<\/em> is still relevant today.<\/p>\n

Performed by a student cast studying for a Master\u2019s in Musical Theatre<\/a> at the college, Rent<\/em> tells the story of a group of New Yorkers struggling with relationships, illness and what it means to be human.<\/p>\n

Rent will be performed at the Bute Theatre in the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama this month.<\/p><\/div>\n

Course leader, Vivien Care, believes that the humanity at the core of the story is what makes the long-running show appealing to audiences. She says, \u201cThe characters in Rent<\/em> [are] just trying to find their way through life, and I think everyone can relate to that.\u201d<\/p>\n
