A new initiative has been developed to support emerging Welsh artists.<\/p>\n

The scheme, dubbed The Sounds of 2014, is part of a wider programme called Horizons. Jointly funded by BBC Cymru Wales and Arts Council of Wales, it will showcase 12 exciting unsigned acts from across Wales.<\/p>\n

Bethan Elfyn of BBC Radio Wales, who is acting as the caretaking producer for the scheme says, \u201cIt\u2019ll help new music in many ways by supporting a collection of new artists, known as Horizon 12. It\u2019s going to be a huge but exciting task.\u201d<\/p>\n

The chosen artists will be announced over the next few months after a panel discusses the nominations. They will reconvene in January to let the public and industry voices have their say.<\/p>\n
