The night will be a rich musical fusion of jazz, hip hop and soul acts including Baby Queens<i> <\/i>and Madassa Soul Band<i>.<\/i><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_21702\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" style=\"width: 468px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/baby-queens.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-21702\" alt=\"Baby Queens sing from the heart\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/baby-queens-468x312.jpg\" width=\"468\" height=\"312\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Baby Queens sing from the heart<\/p><\/div>\n<p>With an after show party featuring DJ sets and a Caribbean feast, artistic director Graeme Farrow says, \u201cWe promise a party atmosphere and an unforgettable evening.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>From 1965 the Casablanca club hosted artists from all over the world, including Aretha Franklin and Spandau Ballet. It was also pivotal in developing local talent.<\/p>\n<p>Originally a Butetown Bethel Chapel, where Ivor Novello was baptised, the Casablanca club was demolished, much to the dismay of the community and replaced by a car park in 1980.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_21730\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" style=\"width: 480px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Johnny-Burke-Image-Fire-Down-Below-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-21730\" alt=\"Local Band Fire Down Below playing at legendary Casablanca Club\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Johnny-Burke-Image-Fire-Down-Below-1.jpg\" width=\"480\" height=\"312\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Local Band Fire Down Below playing at legendary Casablanca Club<\/p><\/div>\n<p>DJ Keith Murrell explained, \u201cThe Casablanca Club was pivotal in the musical history of Cardiff, it had a profound effect on many who remember it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<i>Night at the Casablanca <\/i>\u2013 1 November 2014 \u2013 Wales Millennium Centre.
