Cardiff City is the first UK football club to start an initiative to improve football connections and promote unity with other cultures of the world.<\/p>\n

Cardiff City’s 1Malaysia campaign is set to endorse their passion of football, spreading their knowledge and expertise with football teams across Malaysia, beginning with a Cardiff City Academy in Kuala Lumpur.<\/p>\n

Last year Malaysian businessman Tan Sri Vincent Tan and Datuk Chan Tien Ghee, current chairman of Cardiff City, became one of the biggest shareholders of the club, paying off some of the club\u2019s substantial debt.<\/p>\n

Cardiff City has historical debts of \u00a340m and without the Premiership their future remains unclear. With its Malaysian financial backing, this endeavor seeks to alleviate City\u2019s downtrodden image and promote the Welsh team as a true opponent on the field.<\/p>\n

Tien Ghee tells WalesOnline, \u201cWe have sponsored the football club through Malaysia.<\/p>\n
