They hope to restore the chapels into venues where funeral services, weddings and other special events can be held.<\/p>\n<p>The Friends of Cathays Cemetery, a charity which has campaigned for the restoration for nine years, has supported the council\u2019s efforts to refurbish the chapel.<\/p>\n<p>John Farnill, treasurer of the charity, said that, \u2018When we first got involved the chapels were derelict and almost falling down.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018These past couple of years have seen great progress in the restoration.\u2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cardiff Council hope to raise \u00a3100k for vital work on chapels<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":104,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[4,55],"tags":[1080,10070,1923,1780],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v14.9 -
