Exchange in Roath has returned this week at The Gate Arts Centre.<\/p>\n

The giant swap shop allows people to donate unwanted items until Friday 16th<\/sup> October.<\/p>\n

They can then collect tokens and swap them for other donations this Saturday.<\/p>\n

The yarn-bombed shipping container at The Gate Arts Centre was made by Nelly\u2019s Treasures.<\/p><\/div>\n

Trade School Cardiff and Printhaus are also holding up-cycling workshops, demonstrating how to revamp old clothes and creatively repair unwanted objects.<\/p>\n

Swap shop volunteer, Jonathan Mcloughlin said: \u201cIt\u2019s all about avoiding landfills by encouraging people to swap their items. It\u2019s a way of giving old items a new lease of life.\u201d<\/p>\n

The exchange tokens used in the event are recycled train tickets.<\/p><\/div>\n

Last year saw over 1.5 tonnes of clothes, books, electronics, furniture and toys donated.<\/p>\n
