A Doll’s House<\/span><\/i> will run from 9 to 24 October in Cardiff\u2019s Sherman theatre. It follows the story of Nora, who comes to realise she is unhappy with her role as a wife and mother.<\/span><\/p>\n

The play is known for challenging perceptions of female roles, and this latest iteration will be accompanied by a series of discussions intended to start a debate around the issues surrounding the roles of women in society.<\/p>\n

Speaking to WalesOnline<\/span>, <\/span><\/i>director Rachel O\u2019Riordan said, \u201cNora heralded a new female agency in modern theatre. This discourse around accepted female roles in society remains relevant now.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The first of the discussions will be held on 14 October, and will consider whether Nora is the only iconic role for female characters. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
