It has undertaken many projects to promote sustainability around Cardiff, such as beach cleans and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cardiffmet.ac.uk\/news\/Pages\/Cardiff-Met-students-join-environmental-champions-for-litter-pick.aspx\">litter picks<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Lots of rubbish is dropped on the floor every day in Cardiff<\/p>\n<p>In January 2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cardiff.gov.uk\/ENG\/Pages\/default.aspx\">Cardiff City Council<\/a> reported that litter had reduced by 7% in the past 6 months, indicating that the group is working.<\/p>\n<p>Future events planned by the group include a trip to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.viridor.co.uk\/\">Viridor ERF Waste Management Centre <\/a>on the 27\u00a0and 28\u00a0of October.<\/p>\n<p>Chloe Lavington, the volunteering coordinator of Environmental Champions says,\u00a0\u201cThe aim of the project is to encourage people to reduce waste and improve sustainability\u2026It provides a source of information for new and existing members of the community.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Environmental Champions are educating people on how to be green<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":106,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[4,1],"tags":[448,10237,219],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v14.9 -
