{"id":27768,"date":"2015-11-06T10:34:35","date_gmt":"2015-11-06T10:34:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/?p=27768"},"modified":"2015-11-11T12:46:32","modified_gmt":"2015-11-11T12:46:32","slug":"29-park-place-now-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/food\/29-park-place-now-open","title":{"rendered":"29 Park Place now open"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>29 Park Place has replaced Bacchus at the eponymous address just opposite the National Museum of Wales, since\u00a019 September.<\/p>\n<p>As manager, Mark Holmes puts it, \u201c(It is) generally a place to relax, a home away from home.\u201d The old-school lounge is meant to appeal to everyone from students and families to people who work nine to five\u00a0.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/main.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-27771 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/main.jpg\" alt=\"29 Park Place, Cardiff\" width=\"480\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Formerly the Cardiff Arts Institute and Bacchus bar and lounge, the opening of 29 Park Place was in part due to a \u00a3200,000 loan from a Welsh SME Investment Fund<\/p>\n<p>Some of the largest changes compared to Bacchus in this three-story 4,361 sq ft Victorian property come in the form of the food and cocktails offered.<\/p>\n<p>Now open from 8 am to 1am, the lounge bar offers all three meals and even has a brunch menu (see sidebar).<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_27772\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" style=\"width: 480px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/pool-and-library.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-27772 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/pool-and-library.jpg\" alt=\"29 Park Place, pool table and library\" width=\"480\" height=\"305\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">The pool table, cozy chairs and shelves of books to read<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Owned by Jon Saunders, also the former owner of <a href=\"http:\/\/tenmilllane.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ten Mill Lane<\/a>, the establishment has VHS tapes of 90s movies to watch, Xbox games, a pool table and a library to enjoy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The ambience is games, food, drinks, books, and a variety of music<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":116,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[11],"tags":[10323,2086,606,1469,10327,31,10324,10326,2614,339,10325,70,4185,3333],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v14.9 -
