A\u00a0Cardiff University student is about to go national with a quite niche sport.<\/span><\/p>\n

Will Hayward has recently joined the Welsh korfball team. <\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s a fitting tribute to the work\u00a0the\u00a0Masters in News Journalism student has done to promote\u00a0korfball in Cardiff.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI first got involved with the sport at Cardiff University seven years ago,\u201d says Will, originally from Northampton. “I loved it. In 2011 I started my own club Cardiff Raptors<\/a>, which now has three teams.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

His appointment comes after a spell of injuries\u00a0following the 2011 World Championships in China. \u201cI\u00a0got injured just after I got back. I\u00a0was\u00a0having surgery\u00a0until the end of last year. I want to start regularly in time for the European championships next year.”<\/span><\/p>\n
