{"id":29312,"date":"2015-11-24T11:16:19","date_gmt":"2015-11-24T11:16:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/?p=29312"},"modified":"2016-10-17T15:51:38","modified_gmt":"2016-10-17T15:51:38","slug":"artist-couple-have-joint-exhibition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/culture\/artist-couple-have-joint-exhibition","title":{"rendered":"Artist couple have joint exhibition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Artist couple <a href=\"http:\/\/www.robertmcpartland.com\/\">Robert McPartland<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/griffingallery.co.uk\/artists\/stephanie-tuckwell\">Stephanie Tuckwell<\/a> are displaying their work together at a joint exhibition.<\/p>\n<p>The Cardiff-based artists\u2019 work will be shown at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kooywoodgallery.com\/index.php\">Oriel Kooywood Gallery<\/a> from 5 November to the 28 November.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_29359\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" style=\"width: 480px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/paintbrush.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-29359 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/paintbrush-480x220.jpg\" alt=\"paintbrush\" width=\"480\" height=\"220\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Robert McPartland and Stephanie Tuckwell&#8217;s art will be on display at the Kooywood Gallery<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Both graduates of <\/span><a style=\"line-height: 1.5;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gold.ac.uk\/\">Goldsmiths College<\/a><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\"> in London, the couple have individually won their fair share of awards.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Robert was the recipient of the 2010 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thenationalopenartcompetition.com\/\">National Open Art Competition<\/a> regional prize for Wales, whereas Stephanie was the winner of the University of Glamorgan\u2019s prestigious <a href=\"http:\/\/www.walesonline.co.uk\/news\/local-news\/stephanie-scoops-top-art-prize-2164891\">Art Purchase Prize<\/a> for 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Whereas Robert\u2019s bright oil paintings consist of inanimate objects, Stephanie\u2019s monochrome mixed media seems to focus on more ambiguous shapes.<\/p>\n<p>Robert says, \u201cMy paintings are inspired by the colours used by Matisse and Sean Scully and the simple still life paintings of\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Giorgio Morandi.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Their work will be shown at the Oriel Kooywood Gallery<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":106,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[12],"tags":[101,10689,10688,10685,10691,10687,10690,10686,2192,10683,10684,209],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v14.9 -
