Hijinx\u2019s community theatre group Odyssey<\/a> is set to perform in The Silent Toy Solider<\/a><\/em> in the Wales Millennium Stadium on 3 to 5 December.<\/p>\n

The show is\u00a0an adaptation of ETA Hoffmann\u2019s The Nutcracker and the Mouse King<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The cast consists of disabled and non-disabled performers, as Hijinx aim to provide a platform for talented actors who may get overlooked because of their learning disabilities.<\/p>\n

Professional actors Kirsty Rosser, 38, and Martin Vick, 40, have been involved with the theatre group for over 10 years as Martin said, \u201cI joined in 2001 and I played Peter Pan in my first show.\u201d<\/p>\n

Productions such as this are made possible by funding from the Arts Council of Wales.<\/p>\n

Odyssey members have also raised money for productions, as Kirsty revealed that she fundraised by baking and selling cakes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
