{"id":29664,"date":"2015-12-01T10:38:53","date_gmt":"2015-12-01T10:38:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/?p=29664"},"modified":"2016-10-17T16:07:48","modified_gmt":"2016-10-17T16:07:48","slug":"father-and-son-open-cafe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/food\/father-and-son-open-cafe","title":{"rendered":"Father and son team open second cafe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A father and son have opened their second caf\u00e9 in Cardiff.<\/p>\n<p>Colin Brooker, 57, and his son Simon, 24, welcomed their first customers into the second branch of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/sorrentocardiff\/\">Sorrento\u2019s<\/a> two weeks ago.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_29812\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" style=\"width: 416px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/sorrentos2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-29812 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/sorrentos2-416x312.jpg\" alt=\"cafe \" width=\"416\" height=\"312\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">This family run business offers home cooking with a twist and can be found in Cathays as well as Roath<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The opening of the second Sorrento\u2019s on Salisbury Road, Cathays comes after the success of their first caf\u00e9, which is situated near <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cardiff.gov.uk\/ENG\/resident\/Leisure-parks-and-culture\/Parks-and-Green-Spaces\/Find-a-park\/Our-parks\/Pages\/Roath-Park.aspx\">Roath Park<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The duo decided to set up their first cafe after Colin had returned from working in Australia and Simon had graduated from university.<\/p>\n<p>Sorrento\u2019s is open from breakfast until dinner and serves a variety of food and beverages, ranging from artisan burgers to luxury milkshakes.<\/p>\n<p>Colin says, \u201cWorking with my son has really drawn us together.
