Forget Homes Under the Hammer, this week nine footballers go up for auction all in the name of charity.<\/p>\n

Journalism students from Cardiff University<\/a> took part in a netball game in order to raise money for charity. However, this was no ordinary netball game.<\/p>\n

Netball is a fast paced game in which two teams compete against each other. In this case it wasn’t just the timeless battle of\u00a0boys against girls, but netballers versus footballers.<\/p>\n

It gets better.<\/p>\n

Not only would the losers face the ultimate humiliation of simply losing, they would in fact, be put up for auction for the general public.<\/p>\n

Girls Vs Boys, Netballers Vs Footballers<\/p><\/div>\n

The men’s Journalism football team went head to head against the girl’s Journalism netball team. Unsurprisingly the girls had it in the bag.<\/p>\n

As a result the boys will now be auctioned off on 1 December at Tiger Tiger.<\/p>\n

All the money raised from both the match itself and the auction will go to two charities; Cardiff based Dreams and Wishes<\/a>\u00a0and the International News Safety Institute<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Both of which organiser, Temi Fatona, 21, says are worthy causes, “We chose to support these two amazing charities as we wanted to support a charity in the local community as well as a journalistic charity.”<\/p>\n

“The whole match was just hilarious”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“I am so grateful to everyone who came on Sunday to both help and play,”\u00a0she\u00a0said, “The whole match was just hilarious.”<\/p>\n

Man of the match Caspar Jayasekera, 21, although on the losing team, expressed his admiration and gratitude for the other team and the people that supported them at the match. “I’m really happy that everyone came out to support us and the charities we’re raising money for,” he said.<\/p>\n
