Maesteg Gleeman Male Voice Choir<\/a> performed on Saturday 26 November and raised \u00a3280 for\u00a0T\u0177 Hafan<\/a>. The total amount of money raised was pushed to \u00a3355.44 by people donating at Maesteg’s local Specsavers branch.<\/p>\n

Specsavers has recently decided to sponsor T\u0177 Hafan. Alison Stallard, the head of business and community for T\u0177 Hafan, says, \u201cHaving the support of a household high street name like Specsavers is fantastic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Specsavers partnership with T\u0177 Hafan\u00a0extends to 35 of their stores across Mid and South Wales. They began their year-long support by donating \u00a310,958. This is the exact amount it costs for T\u0177 Hafan\u00a0to provide 24 hours of care.<\/p>\n

Karen Morgan, the manager of the Specsavers branch in Maesteg said the branches affiliated with T\u0177 Hafan\u00a0run a charity event four times a year. She says, “I hope to push the amount raised even further at the next T\u0177 Hafan\u00a0event.\u201d<\/p>\n

T\u0177 Hafan\u00a0is the only child hospice in Wales. It costs over \u00a34 million a year to run and less than 4% of this money is given to them in statutory funding. This means T\u0177 Hafan\u00a0has to rely on donations.<\/p>\n

Maesteg Gleeman Male Voice Choir is running more fundraising events for T\u0177 Hafan from 29 October to 17 December.<\/p>\n

T\u0177 Hafan is also running its own event in Cardiff called\u00a0Carols at the Castle<\/a> on 1 December. As well as a choir performance, there will be a fireworks display.<\/p>\n

After this, T\u0177 Hafan\u2019s next major fundraiser is their trek the Great Wall of China event<\/a>. If you go you get to help repair a section of the Wall and leave a permanent legacy.<\/p>\n
