Entries are now open for the second Big Ideas Wales Celebrated competition to showcase entreprenuerial talent among 16 to 25 year olds.<\/p>\n

The national competition aims to find the best business proposals and enterprise activity carried out by young people in Wales.<\/p>\n

The initiative run by Big Ideas Wales<\/a> was established to celebrate shining talent in business from those both within and out of the education system.<\/p>\n

Ventures can include raising money for charity, taking part in the Welsh baccalaureate enterprise and employability challenge or it can be a business idea that the participant is passionate about.<\/p>\n

Entries can be submitted in teams or as individuals and should take the form of a short video detailing the name of their enterprise and a full brief of their idea including how it would benefit their audience.<\/p>\n

The competition culminates in the Big Ideas Wales Celebrated ceremony and national showcase which will be held at Bangor University in March 2018.<\/p>\n

In its first year, the competition attracted 80 entries from across the country and in a variety of sectors.<\/p>\n

Daniel Huxtable, 20, a student at University of Wales, Trinity Saint David won the 2017 best business activity award for his online martial arts shopping destination Fightwear store UK.<\/p>\n

Daniel said his main motivation behind entering the competition was to meet and network with young business people in Wales as well as being able to showcase his business to a new audience.<\/p>\n

Julie James, minister for skills and science said the young people involved in Big Ideas Wales Celebrated demonstrate the ambition, skills and resilience required to succeed in business.<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cThey are an inspiration and many will undoubtedly go on to become the business leaders of the future and form the bedrock of the Welsh economy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Entries for the showcase can be submitted until 1 February 2018.<\/p>\n
