Charities are hosting extreme fundraising events this October for breast cancer awareness month<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Cancer Research Wales (CRW) has created a skydiving event called Brave it for Breast Cancer. <\/span><\/p>\n

They’ve labelled it an adrenaline-fuelled weekend and it takes place at Whitchurch Airfield from 23-24 October.<\/span><\/p>\n

CRW say the\u00a0skydiving campaigns are very attractive to their supporters as it offers them the chance to take part in an incredible challenge whilst raising funds.<\/span><\/p>\n

They are also organising a shark dive without a cage for the 28 October.<\/span><\/p>\n

CRW is teaming up with Blue Planet Aquarium, located in the North West of England, who will provide a scuba training session.<\/p>\n

Their tagline for the event is: \u201cface your fears with this jawsome experience.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

But it doesn\u2019t just appeal to adrenaline junkies. <\/span><\/p>\n

CRW explain that some participants are petrified and take part purely for loved ones who have been affected by cancer.<\/span><\/p>\n

They raised an excess of 10k last May with a sponsored skydive.<\/span><\/p>\n

Local fundraiser and singer for the Welsh National Opera, Sarah Pope, says \u201cthere\u2019s so much out there and you\u2019ve got to be doing something mega for someone to really sponsor you.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

There is a risk that extreme events can over-shadow smaller fundraising groups, but Sarah always finds a way to succeed. <\/span><\/p>\n

She has raised \u00a323,000 over the years for Breast Cancer Now. <\/span><\/p>\n

Sarah\u2019s team, teambosombuddies, raised \u00a31,563 for Breast Cancer Now<\/a> by doing the Cardiff half-marathon, and she plans to bake cakes for Wear it Pink on October 19. <\/span><\/p>\n

Cancer Research Wales will also be hosting a Wear Something Pink Networking Afternoon, expanding their potential donors and fundraisers.<\/span><\/p>\n

It will include a raffle and free entry. <\/span><\/p>\n
