The expected \u00a32-3 million raised in the first year will go to supporting local and\/or environmental causes.<\/p>\n<p>While a Welsh Government spokesperson promises that, \u201cNo money from the charge will come to government,\u201d the official carrier bag charge website <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carrierbagchargewales.gov.uk\/consumers\/proceeds\/?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\">states that<\/a>, \u201cWe can\u2019t tell retailers what to do with the money.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It is up to the consumers to help ensure that the proceeds do indeed go to good causes.
