St Fagans National History Museum will exhibit hundreds of unusual apples at their forthcoming Apple Weekend.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
The event will run between October 22-23 and showcase more than 350 varieties of British apples, many of which cannot be found in our supermarkets.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe event is in recognition of Apple Day and an opportunity for people to see what\u2019s grown on their doorstep,\u201d explained organiser, Mared Maggs. Apple Day is celebrated by events across the UK, encouraging awareness of food provenance and the importance of regional variety.<\/p>\n
In addition to tasting and buying these rare varieties, visitors can also explore the museum\u2019s orchards, learn the art of cider pressing from a traditional cider-maker and bring along their own apples to be identified by a visiting apple expert.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
