A Pontcanna pub\u2019s pint glass could be half empty as Cardiff council reviews its license this week. The pub Robin Hood received two noise complaints this year \u2013 when Charlotte Church sang karaoke on the Royal Wedding Day, and again on 31 July.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have local support and there’s a petition,\u201d said Paul Careless, Robin Hood\u2019s landlord.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I lose the premise’s license, I\u2019m still liable for rent for 23 years \u2013 that would put me bankrupt. I have a family and 12 part-time staff I\u2019ve created jobs for.<\/p>\n

\u201cA month ago, I built a soundproof wall full of polystyrene at the front. I\u2019ve stopped the karaoke and open mic nights. There have been no complaints since.\u201d<\/p>\n
