This is particularly important to the group as Cardiff was <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.walesonline.co.uk\/news\/politics\/full-eu-referendum-results-map-11510374\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">one of only five<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Welsh constituencies to vote Remain in the 2016 referendum.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The group hold regular events to drive their movement, such as leafleting across the city, setting up street stalls and taking part in parades.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most recently, the group took to Queen Street to be part of the UK-wide People&#8217;s Vote Day of Action on 8 December.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt involves meeting members of the public and discussing their views on Brexit,\u201d says website coordinator, Chris Lewis. \u201cSome support Remain, while some support Leave. We try to enlighten those Leave supporters to show Brexit will be bad for Britain.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The group is part of the larger <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.walesforeurope.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wales for Europe<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> group, which extensively uses the hashtag #NidEinBrexit (#NotMyBrexit) to rally for a People\u2019s Vote on Brexit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The most recent Brexit deal proposal received particular criticism from MPs and AMs across the country for failing to mention Wales at all in its 585 pages.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_46974\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" style=\"width: 800px\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-46974\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Screen-Shot-2018-12-11-at-10.50.43.png\" alt=\"Screenshot of Facebook post from Welsh MP\" width=\"800\" height=\"636\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Screen-Shot-2018-12-11-at-10.50.43.png 503w, https:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Screen-Shot-2018-12-11-at-10.50.43-392x312.png 392w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Torfaen MP Nick Thomas-Symonds heavily criticised the proposed Brexit deal for its failure to mention Wales (Photo credit: Facebook)<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this regard, the work groups like Cardiff for Europe do within the city and across Wales is a way to ensure their voices and views are heard, despite feeling completely left out of all considerations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The group\u2019s work on pushing for a second referendum has been vindicated by news that the European Court of Justice has ruled <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-46481643?intlink_from_url=https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/topics\/c340r9nlk78t\/european-court-of-justice&amp;link_location=live-reporting-story\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the UK can rescind its decision<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to leave the European Union. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the same day, Prime Minister Theresa May <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/politics\/2018\/dec\/10\/theresa-may-postpones-brexit-deal-meaningful-vote-eu\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">deferred the Meaningful Vote<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on her latest Brexit deal which was due to happen today (11 Dec).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cardiff for Europe prides itself on being a welcoming and all-encompassing group of people with a singular aim, and credits working together as something that makes their work worthwhile.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI think working as a group is a case of the whole being greater than the sum of the parts. You get a much bigger impact working as a group rather than a group of individuals doing their own thing,\u201d explains Chris.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI think group events make a difference,\u201d he says. \u201cIf nobody did anything then politicians think people accept what is being proposed.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_46966\" class=\"wp-caption
