the house down<\/em> with drag stars from 11 am to 1 pm. <\/p>\n\n\n\nSpend your Sunday sampling brunch foods and sharing a bubbly prosecco whilst indulging in a series of cabaret performances, free raffles and drag bingo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The much-anticipated brunch will be accompanied by exciting all-singing, all-dancing performances by three of the biggest names in Cardiff’s drag scene; Victoria Scone, Justin Drag and Jolene Dover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Although drag brunches are nothing out of the ordinary for the Revolution chain, this upcoming event will be a first for Revolution Cardiff and will hopefully create a ripple effect across other bars in the city. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sengagh Cowan, sales and events coordinator at Revolution Cardiff, said: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA lot of these [drag brunch] events are held at gay bars, which is great, but I want to show that you don\u2019t have to be a gay bar to be LGBTQ+ friendly. If we can throw this inclusive event that isn\u2019t just for pride, and that shows \u2018we\u2019re with you on this\u2019 then that would be great.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She continued to say: \u201cI\u2019m hoping that we\u2019ll get more of a connection between the different communities to bridge that gap just a little bit.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lauren Simons, who will be performing at the event as drag King, Justin Drag, agreed by saying: \u201cI feel that having the event at Revs [an open club that is mainly heterosexual] will introduce more people to drag. Hopefully this will spread the word around to all sexualities, genders and just anyone who wants to drink lots of unlimited prosecco.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In March 2019, The Guardian<\/em> reported<\/a> that these intimate events hosted by drag stars have been on the rise in the UK for five years.
