{"id":620,"date":"2011-10-11T11:40:15","date_gmt":"2011-10-11T11:40:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/?p=620"},"modified":"2015-10-07T10:57:32","modified_gmt":"2015-10-07T10:57:32","slug":"farmers-market-faces-early-closing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/food\/farmers-market-faces-early-closing","title":{"rendered":"Farmers Market faces early closing"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>The future of Cardiff\u2019s newest Farmers Market hangs in the balance this week as it awaits a decision from Cardiff council.<\/h2>\n<p>Castle Quarter Market, located on the High Street has been on trial since August, trading locally produced food every Thursday. <em>RCMA Social Enterprises<\/em> is the company behind the project, which encourages local traders to sell their produce and get the community back to buying local.<\/p>\n<p>The council are currently conducting research with other Cardiff traders to ensure the market is beneficial to the welsh economy.<\/p>\n<p><em>RCMA\u2019s<\/em> Director, Steve Garrett, is hopeful that the market will continue. \u201cA town without a market is a town without a heart\u201d, he says. \u201cWe are optimistic and they [the council] are optimistic that the outcome will be positive\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/farm2.bmp\"><img class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-672\" title=\"Castle Quarter Market\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jomec.co.uk\/altcardiff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/farm2.bmp\" alt=\"Castle Quarter Market\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The future of Cardiff\u2019s newest Farmers Market hangs in the balance this week as it awaits a decision from Cardiff council.
