On 21 October, the winners of the inaugural Welsh Music Prize will be crowned at a swanky ceremony in Cardiff\u2019s Kuku Club.<\/p>\n
Although the Welsh Music Prize is only in its infancy, its affiliation with the acclaimed local music festival, Swn, has seen it magnetise key players from the world of music to form a stellar judging panel. Chairing the panel is Cardiff native, and Radio 1 DJ, Huw Stephens.<\/p>\n
\u00a0In true Swn spirit, the prize shortlist comprises of albums from an eclectic mix of Welsh talent. Flag-flying favourites The Manic Street Preachers will go head-to-head with lesser-known acts, such as singer-songwriter Sweet Baboo, in a battle for the coveted prize.<\/p>\n
