David Jones\u2019 art collection comes to Cardiff<\/h2>\n

David Jones was a twentieth century British artist inspired by the powerful influences of landscape, language and myths of Wales.<\/p>\n

National Museum Wales<\/a> is hosting an exhibition of primarily Jones’ watercolour artwork up until 4 March 2012.<\/p>\n

Born of a Welsh father, Jones spent time in Wales as a pupil to artist-craftsmen Eric Gill<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jones\u2019s inspiration from the Welsh landscape entwined with Arthurian legend is captured best in his vision of Breconshire in the painting Capel-y-ffin. (See sidebar for details)<\/p>\n
