Now in its second year, the prize will be awarded at a ceremony in Cardiff on the opening night of Swn Festival. A panel of at least 10 music industry experts will pick the winner.<\/p>\n

Marc Thomas, Welsh Music Prize Administrator, says, \u201cWelsh Music Prize is a great opportunity to show the musical talent in Wales. We are a country that has always produced great music.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Welsh Music Prize was created by music industry expert John Rostron and Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens. Last year\u2019s winner was Super Furry Animals frontman Gruff Rhys. He was shortlisted alongside acts such as Manic Street Preachers and Joy Formidable.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
