The arts contemporary platform has been raised in Wales this year and where credits due, we can thank the Artes Mundi exhibition.
“As part of Artes Mundi this year, there have been offshoot projects,” says Ffion Rhys Project Coordinator for Artes Mundi. Before this exhibition turned up on the scene she states, there was nowhere to go and look at contemporary art and there weren’t any galleries specifically for it.
Cardiff Contemporary is a recent Cardiff council initiative, which has been described as a “fringe event” following Artes Mundi, aiming to help promote the arts contemporary scene in Wales. Around Cardiff the fringe initiative has supported local galleries, art events and projects. So look and see for yourselves what Cardiff has to offer.
