Reading is becoming all the rage in Cardiff as many youngsters across the city are falling in love with books and improving their literacy skills as well.
Over the last eight months they’ve been benefiting from a new way of learning, a virtual book club for young people, which was launched at Cardiff central Library in early this year. The online club created by Cardiff Council’s Reading Power and TheSprout website. Every month they recommend books to youngster and invite readers’ reviews and comments. Young people are encouraged to contribute and share their views with their peers.
Peter Black, a Cardiff central library staff said:“Many parents found their children’s reading skills have significantly improved after joined this virtual book club.”
