The project will see 45400 new homes built over the next 14 years and there will be investment in public transport after a warning that journey times will jump by 40%.
The biggest single proposal is for 7500 homes in a new suburb west of Pentrebane and about 6000 and 2000 earmarked either side of Pontprennau. Besides, 2000 houses are going to be built on land north of junction 33 on the M4.
According to LDP, about 40000 jobs are planned by 2026, and the capital’s population could be 408000.
While councilors believe it is the time for Cardiff to grow into a “global renowned, European capital city”, some people are worried about the possible detrimental impact on the surrounding areas after the huge expansion.
